What's Included
Reporting to base, you’ll be provided with waterproof pants and jacket, gloves, boots and ice crampons. A quick walk across the Franz Josef Village lands you at the chopper area, where you board your helicopter for a quick 5 minute flight high onto the Franz Josef Glacier.
What an epic start, from here your guide teaches you how to don your crampons and takes you on a guided walk across this magnificent blue ice of the Franz Josef Glacier. Learn all about its history, its changes and how the Franz Josef valley used to look many thousands of years ago.
After up to three hours on the ice, your chopper returns to fly you back to the Franz Josef Village. Included with this Franz Josef guided hike is entry to the Franz Josef Hot Pools – an incredibly relaxing spot to unwind after your hike.
