A few important bits:
A hop on, hop off bus pass allows you to travel to New Zealand’s top destinations with a driver-guide that shows you the way.
The buses run on frequent schedules with 3-5 departures per week that match the itinerary on each pass page.
Once you start your pass, you have a full 12 months to use the entire route. Or, you can choose to travel the route in the minimum time listed on the pass.
If you have more days to travel New Zealand than the "Minimum Time," you can hop off anywhere along the route if you wish to spend more time in any of the places the bus travels to.
What age group is on the bus?
All ages between 18 - 70 are welcome, but most people are between 21 and 35.
Is this like the Intercity / Naked Bus?
Absolutely not! If you want to travel on public buses with no stops along the way, then the Naked Bus is for you. With these hop on hop off bus passes, we stop along the way so you can take sweet as photos, go for short walks to epic waterfalls or check out quirky pieces of New Zealand art. These passes cost a bit more, but you'll have a much better experience travelling New Zealand.
Does the bus pass include accommodation?
Accommodation is extra, but you're guaranteed your first night’s accommodation in each place we stop. This takes loads of stress out of planning your New Zealand trip, as there is no need to book accommodation in advance. During the busy months, towns often fill up so when travelling with one of these passes you have the peace of mind to know you've got an awesome place to stay when the bus rolls into town.
How much does accommodation cost?
The average price of a dorm bed in New Zealand is about $25-$30 per night., $60-$80 for a double/twin room and $80 - $120 for a double with ensuite.
Are activities included?
No, activities must be purchased separately. We can get you the best deals on bungy jumping, skydiving and more – so contact us to book your activity add ons.
Can I travel alone?
Absolutely! This is an awesome way to meet other like minded travellers.
How many other people are on the bus?
Depends entirely on the season – the buses seat between 14 and 45 people.
