This bus pass is well worth doing. You'll see some great things - the Deep South is an amazing place to be. I recommend spending some extra time in Queenstown (beyond the free day). If you're staying in Christchurch longer than 24 hours, I recommend hiring a car (otherwise you'll unfortunately see and do nothing).
